Healing and Divorce
Writing Heals — My Divorce Library
Writing reminds me of things I’ve already learned. Writing helps me envision what I could be in the future. During my divorce years, I’d often write thoughts and lessons and wouldn’t practice what I wrote for months.
Living up to the words I write is important to me. Sometimes, I still slip, allowing myself to be triggered by my Ex. It’s not as frequent, and when it does happen, it’s not as severe and doesn’t last long. I can attribute much of the work I did on myself to writing.
Reading my old writings helps me to get back on track. Below are all the pieces I’ve written during my divorce journey. If you are going through a divorce, I give you a virtual hug and hope sharing my experience can help you heal.
Go Small for Big Love after Divorce: I moved into a studio basement apartment when I separated and divorced. Small-living gave me intimate time with my kids and eliminated the stress of upkeeping and improving a house right away. The Cave, as we called it, served us well. We’ll never forget it.
