“Yeah, being an adult is fun,” I began, “Especially at the beginning. When you turn eighteen and move out on your own — and you will get your own place, you won’t be living with us. You need to go into the world and test it — you’ll have some tiny apartment with hardly anything in it. A small bedroom with a living room big enough for a small couch and table. A kitchen with a small window and a little table with a few chairs. It won’t be much, but it will be your space, and you’ll love it.”

When I see new college grads taking pics near my house I want to scream, “That is the easiest your adult life will ever be!” I’ve been having convos with my mates telling them this is the most overwhelmed and anxiety ridden I’ve ever been at age 50. The state of the world seems so heavy and one of my kids is in the LGBTQ family. Remember the days when two finals in one day was a Hard Day! Oh yeah and aging parent is a big beat down nowadays too.
