In fact, 8% of Americans today report having no close friends, with a majority of adults (53%) saying they have four close friends or fewer. In the age of connectivity, we’re becoming as socially isolated as a corseted Victorian lady. No wonder it’s so tempting to turn to the internet for social connection and validation.
