I’m being 25% cynical, 25% resentful, and 50% sarcastic here as a divorced dude. After you find a sweet guy that loves and impregnates you, you’ll probably take him for granted and treat him like shit after you have his sperm, so you might as well save him and yourself the traumas of a future divorce, and just go to the sperm bank. Sorry couldn’t help myself. That’s the few cupfuls of resentment still in me.

In all seriousness it does really suck for aging woman who have it together, and would make wonderful loving moms. And meanwhile there’s the teen or young twenties gals with three kids and more on the way. Adoption is also a long and expensive process.
