I thing for those of us with big tanks of empathy we will also carry around some regret and shame for not being able to help. We carry that should've-could've energy. I've come to live it with as there's only ONE of me and my first responsibility is to our take care of myself so can take care of my children. There are so many people and furry-ones that need my help and love but there's that thing called TIME and there's a limited amount of it. One dog and two kids is all I can handle! You made Shadow's life better till it was time for her to go.
