From your source---Sleep continuity: Since cycling through the stages of sleep into deep sleep and REM sleep are essential to our bodies ability to recover and develop, it’s critical that sleep be continuous and uninterrupted.

A side effect of many meds or taking too many meds is restlessness and excessive urination because our bodies are trying to get rid of meds that it can't process. For at least 15 years my Dad had poor sleep getting up 4-5 times or more to urinate. This absolutely contributed to his current condition having Dementia and Parkinson's. His doctors never thought of the long term effects or synergistic effects of the meds he was taking. Everything was always about numbers.

At age 50, and seeing the condition of my Dad, I've prioritized sleep more than ever.
