Be a Good Cunt. It Makes the World a Better Place
“I reckon you’re a Good Cunt!”
Those words spoken to me over twenty years ago had a lasting impact. While the word cunt is generally considered derogatory, I was surprised by its use as a non-gender pronoun in New Zealand. It’s still not appropriate for everyday use, however, it has a nice ring to it!
Try it out. You’ll dig it. Turn to your nearest buddy and say it.

I flew to New Zealand on a mission to find a teaching job. Things weren’t looking good after a few days. Depressed and alone, I did what any twenty-nine-year-old would do on their first Friday night in a new country. I tossed on a fancy shirt and headed out. My meanderings led me to a house party. While puffing a joint with a local, I shared why I was in New Zealand and the many challenges I faced to find a job.
After a mighty exhale and with his face clouded by smoke, he slapped his hand on my shoulder, looked me in the eye, and spoke those life-changing words.
“Well, I’ve only known you a few minutes, and I reckon you’re a Good Cunt…
